PRACTICE OVERVIEW
Katherine A. West’s practice focuses on the areas of estate planning, trust administration, probate and conservatorships. The State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization has certified Katherine as a Specialist in the areas of Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law.
BACKGROUND
Prior to joining Hoge Fenton, Katherine practiced law with McGlashan & Sarrail, P.C. Katherine is the former chair and current member of the board of the Women Lawyers’ Section of the San Mateo County Bar Association. She is also an active member of the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the San Mateo County Bar Association.
Katherine graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law, where she served as the Senior Articles Editor for the Santa Clara Law Review. After law school, she volunteered in the Research Attorney’s Office, Probate Department, at the San Mateo County Superior Court. Katherine has published two articles in the Santa Clara Law Review: “Following in North Carolina’s Footsteps: California’s Challenge in Compensating Victims of Compulsory Sterilization” and “Denying a Class of Adopted Children Equal Protection.” She graduated with honors from the University of California at Davis, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in History and minored in Economics.
